Udupi : The state government will provide free education from Kindergarten to Post Graduate female students in government schools and colleges from 1^st April, 2018, said Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment and also district in-charge Minister.

After inaugurating the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Government First Grade College and Post Graduate at Tenkanidiyoor, near here on Tuesday, 6^th April, 2018 said that all fees to be paid by the government for the empowerment of the female students in the state. This time the chief minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiha declared two things in the budget that more fund sanctioned to Department of College Education which the decision taken into appointment of guest lecturers and appointment of assistant lectures’.  The government will spend atleast Rs 60,000 for the students per year. He said that due to several reasons, the proposal of giving Laptop for 1^st graduate female students postponed, but this project will be expected to come at the earliest.

During the occasion the rank holders from the university examinations were felicitated. Meanwhile former Principals of the college Dr. Padekallu Vishu Bhat, Prof. Jagadish Rao and G. Yoganand also were felicitated by the minister.

Udupi CMC President Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, Zilla Panchayat member and local leader Janardhan Tonse, Taluk Panchayat member Dhananjay Kumar, Tenkanidiyoor Gram panchat President Jayakumar Belkale, Mangalore University Joint Director Prof. Mahesh Rao, Silver Jubilee Celebrations Committee President Prakyath Shetty, Students Welfare Council President and members were present on the dais.

Principal Prof. Balakrishna S Hegde spoke the key note address and welcomed the gatherings. Dr. Duggappa Kajekar, Lecturer compered the programme. The silver jubilee celebrations will be held for three days with various cultural programmes. Old Students Association Day also to be celebrated on the occasion.
