Udupi ; As per as development is concerned, Kaup Legislative Assembly constituency is role model for the state and same developmental works to be undertaken in my constituency also, said Minister of State for Municipal Administration Eshwar B. Kendre.

He was speaking at Sri Veerabhadra Temple Hall at Kaup near here after launching various developmental projects at worth Rs. 83.92 crores under the Kaup Town Municipality limits on Friday, 9^th March, the minister said that various facilities for workers who working in town panchayats, municipal councils and greater municipalities with better amenities’. The temporary labours will make permanent jobs after two years of employment. The increase of wages, life security and 7.5 lakhs labours will provide the housing and other facilities will be provided, he said.

He said that the local bodies have to adopt the latest technology in managing solid waste management and drainage system to prevent the spread of diseases due to unhygienic situations. Meanwhile the state government aims to make all cities and towns free from open defecation by 2^nd October, 2018, he said.

The local MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake spoke the keynote address. He said the Kaup Town Panchayat developing very fast and further many developmental projects to be undertaken. Various projects worth 130 crores will be launched under Kaup Town council limits. The Kaup town council area has achieved the best second town council in cleanliness. We have laid the foundation stone for the long pendidng demand of providing round the clock drinking water to Kaup town worth Rs. 57 crores. The minister laid the foundation for the project G+3 apartments which provide shelter for 500 homeless families in Kaup constituency. 2 bridges, 8 lakes and 5 crematoriums’ will be developed as soon as possible.

During the occasion sports kits for various sports associations were distributed under Kaup Town Council limits.
