Udupi : I didn’t had any knowledge earlier about the Shiroor Math pontiff Sri Laxmivara Theeratha Swamiji , entering into politics, said Pramod Madhwarj, Udupi MLA and Minister of State for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment.
He was speaking to media persons at Hotel Diana on Sunday, 11th March, Pramod Madhwaraj said that earlier I do not know about his decision of candidate for the forthcoming election of the legislative assembly. I came to know after the whatsapp message and really I was shocked and contacted in phone to him. I give witness by God that I never know about his decision about that, he said.
I gave gratitude to Swamiji for praising me in front of media persons during his press meet, he praised me about my job and services being a MLA.
The media persons asked that any benefit for him if Swamiji contesting the election, Pramod Madhwaraj said that it is the fundamental right to vote whoever it may be the candidate and it is upto the people to decide to whom they shall vote. Election means it is the decision of the voter. Udupi people are very smart than others. I equally accepted two times defeats in the election and previous I won the election. I am the least person to not bother about the winning or defeats, he said.
