Print Udupi : The first “Saviruchi Sanchari Canteen” was launched by the district in-charge Minister, Pramod Madhwaraj at the DC office complex premises at Manipal here on Saturday, 24th March, 2018.
After the launch, Pradmod Madhwaraj said that Chief Minister Siddaramiah in his budget had announced the launch of the Saviruchi canteen all over the state under district Shtree Shakti Okkootas. Every district level Shtree Shakthi Women Fedrations has been formed in the district to run the canteens. Each federation will be given a loan of Rs. 10 lakh by the Karnataka State Women’s Development Corporation to run the Saviruchi canteens without any interest. After the loan sanctioned, the loan should be repayable in 66 installments in 67 months with Rs 15,000 per month. In 67th installment Rs. 10000 the loan remaining part repayable.
In the Udupi district Chaitanya District Shtree Shakthi Okkoota will run the Saviruchi Mobile Canteen.
Smt Umashree of Chaithanya Zilla Shtree Shakthi Okkoota said that breakfast and meals will be available in the canteen. They can also prepare tea, coffee, snacks and fruit juice for sale. The mobile services will be available all centers in the Udupi district like Brahmavar, Udupi, Manipal and other places. The snacks and meals will be available with reasonable rates, she said.
During the launching ceremony, Dinakar Babu ZP President, Sheela K Shetty ZP Vice president, Nalini Pradeep Rao President of Udupi Taluk Panchayat, Gracy Gonsalves Deputy Director for Women and Child Development and other officials were present.
