Udupi : Shobha Karandlaje, Udupi – Chikkamagalur Member of Parilament along with other BJP leaders as per the nationwide call by the BJP began a day long hunger strike in front of DC office here at Manipal on Thursday, 12^th April, that the Congress Party and the opposition were responsible for the parliament disruption in the second session of Parliament.

During a hunger strike the leaders shouted slogans against the Congress party. Speaking to media persons Shobha Karandlaje said that the National Parliament house is called the temple of the nation. In order to solve the various problems, development and other issues are discussed in the parliament which the opposition Congress Party not allowed to discuss the various issues like farmers problems, drought situations, drinking water and so on. Congress Party is responsible to waste the parliament proceedings, she said.

Congress Party has acting against the people and democracy. Several bills are still pending which needed very badly. Congress party not allowed any matters in the parliament. The Congress party is an old party in the country and they do not need to respect the parliament sessions and working against the democracy, she said.

Congress party not digested the progress of the central government and they do not want the country to progress. In order to Congress Party’s attitude in the parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, Union Ministers and all MP’s will be observing a day long fast across the country. So that with this hunger strike all over the country, people should understand the real face of the Congress party, she said.

Former Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty, former Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, Senior BJP leaders Udaykumar Shetty, Sukarmar Shetty, Yashpal Suvarna, Shivprasad Shetty, Dinakar Babu, Katpady Shankar Poojary, Nalini Pradeep Rao, Geethanjali Suvarna, Reshma Uday Shetty, Veena Shetty, Baikady Suprasad Shetty and others were present.
