Udupi : Large number of Muniyal Uday Shetty supporters warned the Congress Party that in case of failure to award B form to contest in the Congress ticket, Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty will fight the assembly legislative assembly poll as an Independent candidate.
Muniyal Uday Shetty supporters visited district Congress Office at Brahmagiri near here on Thursday, 19th April and urged the district Congress President Janardhan Tonse to issue ticket to Muniyal in place of Gopal Bhandary.
More than 300 supporters gathered at District Congress Bhavan here and some of the leaders who supporting Muniyal conversed with the district Congress President and said that the party high comman has issued ticket wrongly to former MLA Gopal Bhandary. Since two years Muniyal Shetty actively involved building the party at Karkala surroundings and Gopal Bhandaray had not done like Muniyal. Muniyal Shetty’s role to build the party in order to get people support for the party has been measureable. Day and night he worked for the party with large supporters. But we got pain to forfeit the active leader like Muniyal Shetty and given ticket to Gopal Bhandary, they said.
The supporters of Muniyal directly made allegation that MP and former chief minister Veerappa Moilyt blocking chances of Muniyal on account of nepotism to favour his son Harsha Moily. Indeed, it is Veerappa Moily who destroyed the Congress Party in Karkala Constituency.
At the end Janardhan Thonse assured the supporters of Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty to bring their views to the attention of Congress High Command on this issue.
