Udupi : I had no relation with the Spring Zouk Party (Rave Party) held on July, 2012 at St Mary’s Island Malpe, it was purely conspiracy to malign my image, Raghupathy Bhat, former MLA.

Addressing a press meet at District BJP office, near Kadiyali here on Saturday, 21^st April, Raghupathy Bhat said that the said party was not rave party, but it was an International festival. Being as an MLA, I had participated the programme.

He said that with the support of my party workers and the people at large, I have able to get to contest the assembly election. Herewith, I would like to say that I will work sincerely towards the wishes of the public with any black mole. There are 213 booths in the constituency and all the booth level people will gives me support to contest in the election. I offered special prayers to all the God’s to get the ticket in BJP. Since 7 in the morning to 9 pm, I visited around 250 to 300 houses in a day of the constituency. I am happy to see their support to me. As per the poll forecast, the people’s opinion in favour of me and  the BJP allotted to winning candidates. As per the opinion during my campaign, people expressed their disappointment in Pramod Madhwaraj’s work,  he said.

He said that I joined the party in 2001 to contest Udupi CMC as a Kadiyali ward member. After I got chance to contest in legislative assembly seats in 2004 and 2008 under Dr. V. S. Acharya’s guidance. Both times, I won the election and elected as Udupi MLA. Both terms I tried to my best for the development of the Udupi constituency under the guidance from Dr. V. S. Acharya. Still there are some works pending. I want to fulfill the vision of Dr. V. S. Acharya with completion of his vision, said Bhat.

Raghupathy Bhat said that the BJP convention will be organized at Chittaranjan Circle on Monday, 23^rd April at 10 am and later along with my supporters by walk to Bannanje Election Office, submit my nomination papers to the election commission, he said.

In reply to a question on Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math contesting as an independent candidate from Udupi constituency, Bhat said that I will meet him personally and will convince him to withdraw his nomination. I will seek his blessings and also seeking blessing from all Swamijis of Ashta Maths, he said.

I have confident to win cent percent and BJP will win all five legislative seats in the districts.  Narendra Modi, PM will visit to my constituency on 1^st May and Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister will visit to Udupi also. Whenever, Modi visited my constituency during the election, I won the election. This time also I am going to win surely, he said.

The BJP solved the problems of Krishna Math in terms of notification of endowment department, Kanaka Gopura issues, security and other issues of Krishna Math. Congress never solved any problems during their rule, he said.

In reply to question on in what basis he will ask votes from the people, Bhat said that on the basis of development during my membership of legislative assembly when large number of developments like roads, footpaths near roads, DC office, shifting of Beedinagudde dumping yard to Alevoor and many more, he said.

In regard to previous election defeat by BJP candidate Sudhakar Shetty at a margin of more than 39000 votes, Bhat said that Congress had made false statements and rumours on contestant Sudhakar Shetty and he lost the election. But, during the MP election, BJP candidate Shobha Karandlaje won with huge margins. Not only that after the previous elections, BJP won majority seats in ZP, Grama panchayats and APMC, he said.
