Udupi : The Energy Minister for state and Chairman of the campaign committee,  D. K. Shivakumar visited Sri Krishna Math on Wednesday, 2^nd May, 2018.

He visited along with his wife Usha Shivakumar and made a darshan of Lord Krishna and received the prasada from Paryaya  Palimar Math Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji during his visit.

Later speaking to the media persons, DK Shivakumar said that I have tremendous faith in Lord Krishna. I have visited the Math on behalf of the party as well as our governmentIt is not important who has visited the Math and who has not. Sri Krishna is model to me.

He said Paryaya Swamiji as well as Pejawar Swamiji has blessed me and I will not go for those matters anyhow. This time Congress party are facing the election on the basis of development. This time in the election is between Dharma and Adharma. Congress is doing Dharma instead Adharma which follows BJP. BJP is dividing the people in the name of religion.

Responding on Prime Minister Narendra Modi not visited the Sri Krishna Temple, DK Shivakumar said visiting the Math or not is an individual concern. It is true that Chief Minister also did not visit Sri Krishna Math but he did not close the Muzarai department. Siddaramaih government has provided more funds to the Muzarai department and given more power to Muzarai department. We have respect for all religions also. We will get a clear majority with 130 seats, he said.

When asked about the IT raid on Congress candidate in Uttara Kannada, DK Shivakumar said that the union government led by Modi has continuously targeted the Congress leaders by carrying IT raids. BJP has to provide an answer for this, he said.

To a question on Modi praising on JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda during his visit to Udupi, he said that let Modi praise Deve Gowda  and  let Amit Shah praise on Deve Gowda. Deve Gowda has already talked in regard to differences JD(S) has with BJP. Deve Gowda already has given his opinion in regard to this. This is only talking, but internal things are a secret, he said.

During the visit of DK Shivakumar, District Congres President Janardhan Thonse, Harish Kini, Kishan Hegde, Ashok Kodavoor, Dinesh Puthran, Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor and other leaders were present.
