Udupi : Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister has given promises not fulfilled. He had created history that more large time spent for canvassing in the state. He has attracting people with giving false promises and collecting the votes in the speeches, said B. K. Hariparasad, AICC General Secretary.

Speaking to media persons at Congress Bhavan here on Tuesday, 8^th May, B. K. Hariprasad said that there would be lot of differences between Siddaramiah and Modi in regard to giving promises during the election campaigning. Siddaramiah has fulfilled the promises made during the previous election, but Modi never fulfilled the promises and the Union government has failed to fulfill the promises. Cleaning of Ganga River, returning of black money, waiving of farmers loans etc like other promises are only in speeches but not fulfilled, he said.

BJP was trying to improve its tally in coastal districts which not works that the people would not back it. The Congress won 13 seats which BJP won only four seats in previous election. The people realized that voting for the BJP would be like bringing back all problems including moral policing that existed prior to the previous election, he said.

He said that the Hindutva agenda of BJP not works in the state. BJP’s allegations that in Karnataka the law and order situation completely fallen which has false. In Uttar Pradesh within a year after Yogi Adityanath taken over power, there were more than 1000 fake encounters and more than 38 innocent people have been killed. Amit Shah spoke about 24 murders in the state which is false. Both Prime Minister and Amit Shah were misleading the people on death of 24 persons allegedly belonging to Sangh Parivar. Mr Shah does not have the moral right to speak on the topic as he himself was an accused in murder cases in Gujarat. He is silent on RTI activist Vinayak Baliga’s murder. To a query, Mr Hariprasad said that the BJP was behind the raids on Congress leaders and their supporters in the state. BJP not confident of winning in the state and hence BJP trying to woo the people by raiding congressmen, he said

Asked why Siddaramiah was contesting in two constituencies if the Congress was confident of its victory. Hariprasad said Congress MLA Chimanakatti, Congress MLA for Badami Assembly constituency was insistent that Siddaramiah should contest from the seat. Modi fought the Lok Sabha election from two parliamentary seats. Why BJP targeting chief minister but not Prime minister, he asks.
