Udupi : Karnataka State election has become a battle between Siddaramiah and Narendra Modi, said MP and Congress leader Raj Babbar said on Tuesday, 8th May, 2018.

He was addressing at an election rally of the Congress party at Hiriyadka in favour of Congress Candidate Vinay Kumar Sorake here said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered from leadership during the election campaigning and utilizing without state BJP leaders. The lack of leadership in State BJP had forced Modi, Yogi Adithanath, Amit Shah as many campaign meetings as possible. Hence BJP already sensed defeat in the state, he said.

Raj Babbar said that Modi had described himself as chowkidar or watchman. Lalit Modi, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi had managed to commit financial scams in the country flee abroad. Modi is content to let thieves flee which is a strange job of watchman, he said.

The prices of petrol and diesel increased even though very less price in international crude oil market. Since four years of Modi at centre, the prices of necessary goods skyrocketed. It is our honor that being a prime minister of the country. But what is the contribution of Modi for the poor. Indira Gandhi brought poor people to open account in the banks and major scheduled banks were nationalized. Modi told the people to open the accounts in the bank and Rs 15 lacs deposited. Is any deposit from Modi, Babbar asks to the people gathered.

Siddaramiah gives the diesel to fishermen in the state which no other BJP ruled a state has gets. Narendra Modi hardly speaks against the Congress only. Even during visit of foreign countries Modi used to speak against Congress. I have great respect to Modi that he is our prime minister, he said.

As far as Yogi Adithynath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh state is concerned, Yogi faced three times defeat in the elections. Now, BJP’s hardwork to congress free state in Karnataka hardly indulged in the campaigning and speaks against the congress. There was no point in Yogi Adityanath campaigning in Karnataka when the UP state of affairs worst. More than 150 children had died owing to lack of medical facilities at the Hospital at Gorakpur. There were rapes and fake encounters always held in UP. Dalits die all over the country. Gorakpur parliamentary constituency in recently held bypoll, BJP lost with heavy margin of votes, he said.

The Congress under the leadership of Siddaramaih has given programmes such as Anna Bhagyam Ksheera Bhagya and many more benefits to the people of the state. It has also provided diesel subsidy to the fishermen here in coastal state, he said.

He also said for the sake of poor people, Siddaramiah introduced Indira Canteens all over the state. Any such canteens opened in BJP ruled states, he asks.
