Udupi : Today, India one of the developing country in world that would because of developmental works undertaken by the Rajiv Gandhiji when he was prime minister of the country and today India has been shining due to Rajiv Gandhiji, said Sathish Amin Padukere, President of Udupi Block Congress.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion of 27th death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhiji which was observed at Congress Bhavan at Brahmagiri near here on Monday, 21st May, Sathish Amin Padukere said that the role of Rajiv Gandhiji for the development of youth still remembered by large number of the people. He was responsible to give voting right during the election at the age of 18 years.
Nagesh Kumar Udyavar, senior Congress leader recollected the information technology and telecom revolution launched by Rajiv Gandhi and he gave a new direction to the youth and women of the country. His dynamic leadership and vision gave a new direction of the country towards integrated development in rural areas. He was responsible to releasing funds to the panchayat raj bodies directly.
During the occasion Congress leaders Harish Kini, Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor, Shabbir Ahmed, Annayya Sherigar, Prathiviraj Shetty, Habib Ali, Ramesh Kanchan, Sujay Poojary, Louis Lobo, Naveen Shetty, Narayan Kundar, Niraj Patil, Laxman Poojary, B. K. Somanath, Ganapathy Shettigar, Janardhan Bhandarkar, Narasimha Murthy and other among were present.
