Udupi : MLC and Congress chief whip Ivan D’Souza alleged malpractices of BJP and JD(S) with regard to the upcoming MLC election to Teachers’ and Graduates’ constituencies.

Addressing a media at Congress Bhavan, Brahmagiri here on Saturday, 2^nd June, 2018, Ivan said that BJP candidates of both the constituencies are offering bags and other gifts to the voters. In regard to luring the voters BJP indulged in malpractices. He will complain election commission of India to take action against such candidates.

Ivan D’Souza said that the congress candidate for south west teachers constituency KK Manjunath Kumar is an eligible person to contest the election who have 19 years of teaching experience. In the previous election, the congress candidates were defeated with lender margin. We do hope to win the both MLC seats, he said.

S P Dinesh Kumar is contesting from Southwest graduates’ constituency and K K Manjunath Kumar from Southwest teachers’ constituency. We are going in the field with the achievements of Siddaramiah government during the five years of term. During the Congress rule, various demands of the teachers were met. Teachers’ recruitment, dearness allowance, wage revision and so on. But BJP not done anything for the teachers’ from 2008 to 2013, he said.

Ivan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi cheated the people that if BJP comes the power in the center, Modi will provide 8 core jobs in four years. But Modi has been able to provide 3.5 lac job opportunities only. BJP one way or other lying to get the votes only, but not the development, he said.

Congress candidate from South West teacher’s constituency K K Manjunath said that if he elected he will try his best to solve all the problems of teachers. New pension scheme not covered for aided educational institutions and hence he will try to provide justice to the teachers. Many plans are mentioned in the manifesto, he said.
