No one arrested in Shiroor Swamiji’s death case - Laxman Nimbargi, SP

Udupi : Investigation is being conducted after the complaint to the police in regard to Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math, said Laxman B. Nimbargi, Superintendent of Police, Udupi district.
Speaking to the media persons after the visit of Kemaru Swami and Vajradehi Swami, SP said that police not arrested anyone in the Shiroor Swamiji’s mysterious death case. There are many rumours in the public as well as in the media that police arrested some in relate to the case. It is false and we up to now, not arrested anyone.
SP gave information regarding the Shiroor Swami that Swami was admitted in Gandhi Hospital on 17th July at 11am. After his deteriorating health situation, Swami was admitted to KMC on 18th July very early in the morning at 1am. At 8.30 am on 18th July, Swami breathed his last in the KMC hospital. After the complaint filed by deceased brother Lathavya Acharya, the police investigations began. Brahmavar Circle Inspector Srikanth will lead the investigation under the guidance from Belliyappa, DySP, Karkala, he said.
Asking a query, SP said that we have seized some parts of the Shiroor Moola Math and Shiroor Math in Car Street, Udupi. There are daily pujas and other religious activities will be held without any difficulty in both the Shiroor Maths. CCTV footage will also be checked. We are witing for the post mortem and FSL report which may arrive in 5 to 6 weeks. Now itself, police has been guarding the both the Shiroor Maths. In relate to the case, we are investigating from every possible angle, SP said.
SP told to media persons, the investigations will be hindered when false reports in the media. The accused in the case may take advantage in the false reports in the media. Hence, stop the rumours in the case, he said.
