Across Udupi district voting for local bodies begins today

Print Udupi : Across Udupi district the voting for local body polls began in a smooth way on Friday, 31st August, 2018.
Polls will be held in four Urban local bodies in the district. There are total 35 wards in Udupi City Municipal Council of which 98 polling booths. There are total 97, 561 voters which 47538 men and 50022 females.
There are 23 wards in Kundapur Town Council which total 23 polling booths. Total there are 23302 voters which 11292 males and 12010 females.
There are 23 wards in Karkala Town Council which 23 polling booths. There are total 20604 voters, which 9879 males and 10725 females’ voters.
In Saligrama Town Panchayat there are 16 wards and 16 polling booths. Out of 12961 voters, there are 6213 males and 6748 females.
There would be 98 numbers of EVMs in Udupi CMC, 23 EVMs in Kundapura, 23 EVMs in Karkala and 16 EVMs for Saligrama Town Panchayat.
Total outcome of polls at 9 am was 13.58% in Udupi, 13.07% in Kundapur, 16.63% in Karkala and 17.68% in Saligrama. Overall district polls percentage was 14.25% at 9am.
The counting of votes and the results will be declared on Saturday, 3rd September.
