Udupi : Hundreds of District Congress members organized a rally to protest against the Rafale Fighter aircraft deal by the Modi government, at DC office, Manipal here on Tuesday, 18^th September, 2018.

The protest rally was taken out from Syndicate Circle to the DC office where a huge protest meeting was held.

Addressing the protesters, former district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that due to high rise in fuel and cooking gas, the Congress Party organized Bharat Bandh which huge success. He also tanked the district congress workers role in successive Bandh in the district.He said under A K Anthony then Defense Minister in 2007, the Rafale Fighter at a cost of Rs. 526 crore deals was held with France. But Vinay Kumar Sorake has alleged that the BJP led Modi government was procuring each Rafale fighter  at a cost of over Rs. 1670 crore against Rs. 526 crore finalized by the UPA government. In 2015 Modi government visited France along with his highly influenced friends like Anil Ambani and said that the deal signed by the NDA government was on better terms than the one agreed to UPA government.

Sorake said that Rafale fighter aircraft deal is dubbing it as the biggest scam of Rs. 40,000 crore scam. The people of country need to know the exact position of the deal by NDA government. Defense Minister said that she have any knowledge of the deal with France during her press meet at Delhi earlier. Sorake demands to form the Joint Parliamentary Committee and probe the Rafale deal, he said.

He questioned the fairness of the deal and sought to know the cost of each Rafale Fighter Aircraft. Sorake alleged that the deal has done by Modi to benefit industrialist frindand promote crony capitalism, he said.

Vinay Kumar Sorake praised Atal Bihari Vajpaye former Prime Minster of the country that he met him when he was MP in the parliament. Atal Bihari Vajpaye was not against the democracy of the country. But Narendra Modi not used to meet Vajapayee when the former Prime Minister was sick long time nor he had any respect with Vajpayee. But for the political gain, Modi and Shah walked along with the funeral procession of deceased Vajpayee at Delhi, he said.

Vinay Kumar Sorake said that even there was arrest warrant on Mallya, but Modi and Arun Jaitley supported him to ran out of the country along with Rs. 9000 crore. Modi government has supporting the capitalists with the cost of the nation.

Former MLA Gopala Bhandary while addressing protesters said that the Siddaramiah government as well as present coalition Kumaraswamy government waived the farm loan in the state. The BJP government at the Center not waived any farm loan of the farmers. Congress party has big leaders sine independence which will in favour of dalits, farmers, minorities and all castes as well. India is the land of plenty of religions and castes. Hence, by the policy of secularism in the country, it would be possibility of development. But if there is unrest with various communities, failures in safety of the people, one nation cannot be developed. Secularism is the heart of the nation. Presently the situation in the country will be very dangerous, he said.
