Udupi : The Paralympic Volleyball Federation of India along with the Karnataka State Volley Ball Association for the Physically Challenged will be organizing the First Para Beach Volley Ball Senior Standing National Championship on Malpe Beach here from September 27 to 29.

Addressing to media persons at Country Inn Hotel, Manipal near here on Tuesday, H. Chandrashekar, President of Paralympic Volleyball Federation of India said that 15 states Para Beach Volleyball teams are confirmed around 200 athletes are likely to participating for the said National level Championship. The teams are Karnataka, Goa, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Pondicherry, Maharastra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarkand, Rajestan, Haryana, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Jharkhand, Delhi.

He said that the Indian team for the proposed World Volleyball series will be selected from the tournament. The Championship is playing under the rules and regulations of FIVB/World Para Volley/PVFI.

The Championship cash price is Rs. 1,00,000/- accordingly, winners, runners, third and fourth place. In the Championship the Indian National Para Beach Volley Ball team will be selected under the exports and S.A.I. Committee for the purpose of for the coming proposed old beach volley ball series at Goa tentively February 209 at Goa.

The other purpose of the selected the venue of Malpe beach this is due to World Tourism Day on 27^th September and National Sports Day on September 29.

The said Championship is has been allotted to Malpe Beach due to the World beach festival day on 29^th and 30^th September.

He also said that the Paralympic Volleyball Fedration of India are a focused committee and working on our toe to uplift the game of Volleyball for disabled in India. We are registered and operational since 2007-08 and is affiliated to Paralympic Committee of India which is recognized by government of India, member of Para Volleyball Asian Oceania and member of World Paravalley.

Dr. Jaimala, Minister for Women and Child Development and Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens in the Government of Karnataka will inaugurate the event.

Rajkumar, International Beach Volleyball, Bronze Medalist in Asian Games will be the guest of honor.

Ranjith Martin, Organizing Secretary and Marketing Head PVFI, Uday Kumar Shetty, Dr. Roshan Kumar Shetty, Assist Director, DOSS, Janardhan CMC Commissioner, Laxmi Kola CMC Councillor and other among were present.
