Udupi : Catholic Sabha Kallianpur Deanery organized “Souharda Christmas” with act performance  by famous White Doves of Mangaluru at Mount Rosary Church campus, Santhekatte, Kallianpur on Saturday, December 1,2018.

Prior to the performance by White Doves huge team, stage programme organized which Santhosh Cornelio, President of Catholic Sabha, Kallianpur Deanery was presided over the programme. Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi diocese, K Raghupathi Bhat local MLA, M. A. Gafoor, Member of KPCC, Rev Fr. Leslie Clifford D’Souza, Parish Priest of Mount Rosary Church, Alwin Quadros, President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Valerian Fernandes Immediate President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh and Elroy Kiran Crasto, former President, Rev Fr. Ferdinand Fernandes Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Manjula Nayak CMC Councilor, Baptist Dias, Vice President of Mount Rosary Parish Pastoral Council, Rosy Quadros Secretary of Catholic Sabha Kallianpur Deanery and Ashwin Roche Convener of the programme were present on the dais.

Addressing a gathering Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo said that there are several different religions, but the goal of every religion journey to reach God. We have organized this programme during the Christmas time. The importance of this programme is in the word of Christmas itself. Christmas, the first word is ‘Christ’ and other ‘Mass’ in the sense Christ and Community. Which means that Christ among us.

Bishop said that Christmas gives us two messages; one is love and other peace. Both love and peace would be most important for us. Jesus gave us message of love that humankind should love each other and other peace among the humankind. We should live with the path of Jesus Christ in our daily life, he said.

Addressing a gathering, Raghupathy Bhat said that even though we have different religions and different culture in our country, we are all live in peace and harmony. We cannot see such unity and culture in any country of the world. Even though we have different religious or caste people, we have first love our family, then our relatives, our neighbours and then our country and later faith with God. When all this go hand in hand the bond between us becomes stronger.

We can see the best example for religious harmony in Udupi. Our Christian missionaries have extended their great contribution towards the society. I must appreciate the Christian brothers who invited me such beautiful programme here. I wish all of you a happy Christmas, he said.

M. A. Gafoor and Rev Dr. Fr. Leslie D’Souza spoke during the occasion and gave Christmas messages. Corrine Rasquinha of White Doves honoured for her marvelous contribution towards poor people and her services for underprivileged people and Joseph Rebello of Mount Rosary honoured for his contribution to social cause for winning the District Kannada Rajyotsava district award.

Followed by the stage programme, the play “Vishwashishi” written by Bannu Fernandes held with fantastic act by huge actors. The huge actors played the life and missionary work of St Thomas in India which was fantastic.

Earlier Santhosh Cornelio welcomed the gatherings. Rosy Quadros delivered the vote of thanks and Royston of Kolalgiri parish compered the programme.
