Udupi : Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Kolalgiri unit along with ‘Karval Milan’ will organize Udupi diocese level one day “Sports Fiesta” at Milagres College grounds, Kallianpur here on Sunday, 23^rd December, 2018.

Speaking to media persons at Udupi Press club during the press meet, Rev Dr. Prakash Anil Castalino, parish priest of Sacred Heart Church, Kolalgiri said that the one day tournament will held for youths of all Christian dominations of Udupi district. More than 40 churches youth will participate in the tournament. There are 12 various sports events for both men and women. More than 950 Christian youths will participate in the one day tournament.

Fr. Anil said that the main objective of the tournament is to bring youths to show their sports talents in Christian youths of various dominations.

He said that in every sport events there are cash prizes and certificate for first, second and third place winners. The Championship will be given to both men and women in the tournament. Rs. 15000 cash prize along with certificate will be given to first team winners, Rs 10000 and Rs 5000 for second and third team winners respectively. Along with three lucky winners will be given Gold, Silver and Bronze coins.

The tournament will be presided over by Mosingor Baptist Menezes, Vigar General of Udupi Catholic Diocese. Rev Dr. Lawrence D’Souza Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur will inaugurate the tournament. Pramod Madhwaraj former Sports Minister, Karnataka government will be the chief guest. Rev Fr. Edwin D’Souza Director of Youth Commission, Udupi diocese, Rev Dr. Leslie D’Souza Director of ICYM, Kallianpur deanery, Dion D’Souza Diocesan ICYM president will be guests of honor.

During the valedictory programme, Raghupathy Bhat MLA, Rev Fr. Eldo Paul, Vicar General, SMOS Cathedral, Brahmavar, Rev Fr. Akshay Ammanna of CSI Christa Jyothi Church, Koarangrapady, Udupi and others will be present, he said.

Ashwin D’Souza ICYM President, Kolalgiri church unit, Renson Mascarenhas Secretary, Clarence Fernandes member of Karaval Milan, Dubai, Franklin and others were present during the press meet.
