Udupi : Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and leprologists is organized the project of “Skin Rath” first of its kind which is probably the biggest public education program ever held in India. The Rath is likely to reach Manipal on the 10^th January 2019 from Hubli.

Speaking to media persons during the press meet held at Udupi Press Club here on Tuesday, 8^th January, Dr. Sathish Pai, KMC Manipal said that Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and leprologists (IADVL) is the second largest dermatologist’s association in the world next to American Association of Dermatologists having over 11,500 members. We the members of IADVL have always been committed to c reate awareness among public on their skin health care and we have working on this for the past more than 25 years.

This year we are going ahead with the projhect of Skin Rath which is public awareness programme. A vehicle with LED display of educational Videos including documentary and street play, provision for mike for announcements and educational short talks, pamphlets, books and other educational material will be travelling all over India starting from New Delhi which will ending on 18^th February 2019 at Noida.

The Skin Rath will be likely to reach Manipal on 10^th January and the Rath will be flagged off from Kasturba Hospital, Manipal on 11^th morning. The route of travel will be from Kasturba Hospital to Tiger Circle, Syndicate Bank Head office, Manipal pre-university college, Syndicate circle, Kalsanka, city bus stand, service bus stand, Big Bazar and then district hospital, Ajjarkad.

The Rath will be stationed at above place for approx 30 minutes to educate public about common skin diseases, topical steroid abuse and misuse, skin health etc., before proceeding to Mangaluru, he said.
