Udupi : Annual Athletic meet 2018/19 of the Milagres College, Kallianpur inaugurated  on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Milagres College grounds. The colourful march past held with very disciplined atmosphere which taken guard by Very Rev Dr. Lawrence D’Souza, Correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions, Kallianpur.

After the beautiful march past of the sportspersons, College flag was hoisted by President of inaugural ceremony Very Fr. Lawrence D’Souza. The chief guest of the College Annual Sports was Alumni and University level Athlete Steevan Lewis.  Another chief guest Venugopal Nonda, President of Manglore University Physical Directors’ Association and Physical Director of St Mary’s College, Shirva was inaugurated the annual sports meet and declared open prior to he received Olympic torch from University level sports achievers of the college Sunny Anthony D’Souza, Varun Devadiga, Danush Shettigar, Nithish P Naik, Pratheeksha, Joyce Philomena D’Souza, Akshay Shet, Athif and Sharintha.

Newly built cricket practice pitch was inaugurated by Steevan Lewis with cutting the ribbon where all dignitaries’ were present.

Varun Sports Secretary administrated the oath from the representatives of the sportsmen. The two achievers’ in sports Pratheeksha and Pratiksha Shetty were honoured during the occasion. Prizes also distributed for the topmost march past athletes’.

Venugopal Nonda and others spoke during the occasion. Rev Dr. Lawrence C D’Souza gave his presiding address to the students.

Guest of honor Ms. Rakshitha Rai, Alumna and Cricketer, Retiring Prof. Melwyn C Rego and Harry Castelino Library attender, Retired professors Prof Richard Rebello, Prof Peter D’Souza, Dr. Gerald Pinto, Prof Augustine Dias, Prof Hegde, Prof Cyril Mathias, Calistus D’Souza, Jochim D’Souza and others were present on the dais.

Earlier Dr. Vincent Alva Principal of Milagres College welcomed the gatherings. Nekhil D’Souza Physical Director of the Milagres College proposed vote of thanks. Prof. Joseph Fernandes compered the programme.
