Udupi : A two day mega Udyog Mela inaugurated at District Stadium, Ajjarkad, here on Saturday, January 19, 2019. The mega Udyog mela held on the occasion of 156^th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekanand and National Youth Day which organized by Sanchalan (NGO), and sponsored by Unnathi Career Acadmy along with Dr. G. Shankar Women First Grade College, Ajjarkad, Shruti Sills Private Ltd and Youth Empowerment and Sports Department.

In his inaugural address the chief guest Kota Srinivas Poojary, Opposition leader of legislative council, Government of Karnataka said that due to lack of employment, mental balance of the youth decreases. It would be our system’s responsibility to give ample scope for the youth to providing employment, he said.

In the present situation due to increasing the number of job seekers, it would be difficult to provide employment for all. But presently in the government department of education, urban development and revenue, the posts are vacant. In order to get rid of economic load, the government providing jobs in contract basis. Hence due to that, the youth not able to get proper job opportunities and even proper wages, he said.

Kota Srinivas Poojary appreciated the organizers for the good initiative to help the job seeks in large scale as mega job opportunities for the youth of the district and also other districts youths.

Sanchalana President Prem Prasad Shetty spoke his key note address and said that in the history of Udupi district, the mega Job mela organized to help the job seekers. There was training held in Udupi for the job seekers. More than 10000 youths registered in this mega Udyog Mela. Around 5000 youth face interview on first day and remaining youths interview will be held second day on Sunday. More than 150 companies’ representatives will take preliminary interviews and result will be announced later days, he said.

Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy Commissioner of the district said that it would be great question to provide employment in certain fields. The literate numbers of youths are more in the district, meantime the job aspirants are also more. Due to some reasons, the youth not gets the proper employment. In some fields, it would be difficult to get the persons for the employment. Hence, we ourselves created the problem of employment, she said.

She said the self employment, interest in agriculture field and other, due to proper information, our youth pay the price. Some youths think that by agriculture, not possible to get good earning. Due to make agriculture one can earn double income and can overcome the problem of employment, she said.

Dinakar Babu President of Zilla Panchayat was presided over the inaugural programme. Dr. G. Shankar First Grade Government College, Ajjakad Principal Prof. Bhaskar Shetty, Indira Gandhi Open University Regional Director Venugopal Reddy, Srashti Silks director Akshatha, ZP member Geethanjali Suvarna, CMC member Rashmi Chitharanjan Bhat, Prof Sridher Bhat and Ramrao Acharya of Ajjarkad Women’s College were present on the dais.

Earlier after the invocation, Dr. Roshan Kumar Shetty, District Deputy Director of Youth Empowerment and Sports department welcomed the gatherings. Vije Shetty compered the programme and proposed vote of thanks.
