Udupi : As per the Narayanaguru, we should give importance to education, so as we do empowerment of our society, Dr. Jayamala, Minister for Women and Child Development and District in-charge minister, Government of Karnataka.

She was addressing after inauguration of a mega convention of Billava Community which was organized by Udupi district Billava Yuva Vedike on Sunday, 3^rd February, 2019 at Gandhi Maidan in Brahmavar near here.

Dr. Jayamala said when I was a kid; I remember that my mother used to drink water in traditional material. But due to Narayanaguru, Mahatma Gandhi and Amebedkar, today we can see the equality in our society. Due to the preparation for the state budget, chief minister Kumaraswamy not able to attend this convention which he supposed to participate. But, I will present the three demands of Billava community to the chief minister and do my best for the cause of Billavas, she said

She also said that every person should give importance to the education as Narayanaguru wanted to. It would be every person’s responsibility to take advantage from various schemes of the government.The community leaders should help the people to avail Kiru Sala, Samraddhi yojana and many more, she said.

Sadguru Sri Sri Brahmananda Saraswathi Swamiji, Sri Ram Kshtra Mahasausathana, Kannadi, Dharmasthala, Sadguru Sri Sri Vikyathanand Swamiji, Hosmaru, Sri Gurudevashrama, Bollottu, Karkala blessed the occasion.

B. K. Hariprasad Rajya Sabha member, Dr. Jayamala and Kota Srinivas Poojary, Opposition leader of legislative council were felicitated during the occasion.

Earlier Shiva Poojary of Mumbai gave some historical and present situation of various fields of Billava Community at large and need of Billava community’s empowerment. Suresh Karkada began with invocation prayer. Billava leader Achyuth Kalmady gave his brilliant keynote address.

Shobha Karandlaje MP, Raghupathy Bhat, MLA, Sunil Kumar Karkala MLA, Sukumar Shetty Byndoor MLA, Umanand Kotian Moodubidri MLA, Gopala Poojary former MLA Byndoor, Vinay Kumar Sorake former Minister, Madhu Bangarappa, B Basavaraj former MLAs, Suresh Poojary Entrepreneur from Mumbai, N T Poojary, Naveen Chandra D Suvarna and others were present on the dais.

Vishu Kalmady proposed vote of thanks. Large numbers of people were gathered during the convention. Brahmavar looks like festive season with large banners were displayed from Heroor bridge to Mabukola bridge.
