Udupi : The inauguration of new school building and affiliation of Don Bosco CBSE School Shirva will  be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the school ground here.

Addressing a press meet at Udupi Press Club here on Thursday, February 21, Very Rev Fr. Denis D’Sa Correspondent of Don Bosco School and St Mary’s Educational Institutions said that Dr. G Parameshwara, deputy chief minister of Karnataka state will inaugurate the school building. Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi diocese and President of Catholic Education Society of Udupi Diocese will preside over the programme.

Fr. D’Sa said that guests of honor of the programme are Dr Jayamla, district in-charge minister, Oscar Fernandes, member of Rajya Sabha, Shobha Karandlaje, member of Lok Sabha, Ivan D’Souza, member of legislative council and secretary Parliamentary affairs, Lalaji Mendon Kaup MLA, Mable Rebello, former MP, Vinay Kumar Sorake former minister, Rev Msgr Dr Baptist Menezes, Vicar General of Udupi diocese and Vice president of CESU, Rev Dr Lawrence C D’Souza Secretary CESU and Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Rev Fr Anthony Sera Secretary of CBE Mangaluru, Rev Fr Stany Tauro former Correspondent, Prof Mathew Ninan, Director Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar, Manjuladevi, Education Consultant, Bengaluru, Wilson Rodrigues ZP member, Geetha Wagle member of Udupi taluk panchayat and Varija Poojary President of Shirva Grama Panchayat will be present on the dais.

Fr D’Sa said that a musical evening of entertainment will be held for celebrating the support of donors and well wishers extended for the school, featuring Anuradha Bhat and Ajay Warrier, celebrated Indian Playback singers, renowned professional music team from Bangaluru led by Rajgopal, dance performances from the film industry team, Bangaluru.

Rev Fr. Mahesh D’Souza Principal, Don Bosco CBSE School, Wilson D’Souza, vice president of Shirva parish pastoral council and secretary Leena Machado, Melwyn Aranha Commissions Co-ordinator and Julian Rodrigues member School Committee were present on press meet.

Rev Fr. Mahesh D’Souza briefed report of the school :

Vission is the art of seeing the invisible. Don Bosco English Medium School at Shirva’s vision was to impart value based education that will liberate, humanize and transform every student into persons of Character, Competence, Conscience, Commitment and Compassion.

The year 1983 embarked an educational transformation by establishing an English Medium School. The late Very Rev Fr. Aloysius Rosario, a great visionary ahead of h is time, with a band of 30 students started the Kindergarten Section. At then in the year 1985, the school got affiliated to Karnataka State Board Education.

The School is under the management of Catholic Education Society of Udupi, Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi is the president and Very Rev Dr. Lawrence D’Souza is the secretary of the management. In the year 1992 Late Very Rev Fr. Sylverster D’Souza founded the High School section.

Purpose of life is not to stagnate but to move forward. To be at par with the latest innovative methods, in education, in the year 2016 Very Rev Fr. Stany Tauro took a might leap to introduce CBSE syllabus to the school. The equally enthusiastic and energetic management team under his leadership worked hand in hand to achieve this Herculean task. The foundation stone for the new infrastructure to cater the requirements of a CBSE syllabus was laid on 7^th September 2016 by the Bishop. 25^th May 2018 was historical day when the school got its affiliation and came under the mighty banner of Central Board of Secondary Education School Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, Delhi bearing the affiliation number 830838. At present Very Rev Fr. Denis D’Sa is the Correspondent of the School, with his able guidance and vibrant words, all activities of the School is sailing smooth.

It is fully fledged co-operation school from Kindergarten Section to Class X. It has over a 10100 students around 85 well qualified, experienced teaching and non teaching faculty. The students avail safe transportation, healthy, hygienic mid-day meal, smart class, well equipped library, laboratories, computer education, extracurricular activities like keyboard, karate, bharathanatyam, craft, stitching, home science, yoga, drawing etc. To explore their salient talents scouts guides etc. To imbibe national spirit , tolerance various national and religious festivals are celebrated.

Aloysious Rosario and the founder of the CBSE School Very Rev FR. Stany Tauro will be accomplished when the first batch of class 10 will appear the Board Exams under the Central Board of Syllabus.
