Udupi : The celebrating the ward feast will accelerates the unity among the people of the ward as well as the parish, said Very Rev Fr. Dr. Lawrence C D’Souza, Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur near here.

Addressing in his message during the celebrations of ward feast of St. Sebastian, Thonse ward of the Milagres Cathedral, Very Rev Fr. Dr. Lawrence C D’Souza appreciates unity of the ward people through various activities in the ward and the parish as well. He also appreciates the initiatives of the ward people to felicitating the achievers in various fields.

Earlier during the 8 am mass, there was thanksgiving mass for the ward patron St. Sebastian held with active participation of ward people during the liturgy of the mass. The brief procession with relic of the patron Saint Sebastian was held by the ward faithful at the end of the mass.

At the noon after 12.30 pm, the ward people gathered at Nelson Marina Lewis house for the celebration of annual ward feast. The programme began with invocation prayer. Jyothi Lewis, Gurkarn of Thonse ward welcomed the gatherings.

Very Rev Dr. Lawrence C D’Souza, Felciana Lewis Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Xavier Fernandes Coordinator of Parish 18 commissions, Jyothi Lewis, Gurkarn, Ancilla Lewis ward representative, Nelson and Marina Lewis host of the programme were present on the dais.

Judy D’Silva secretary of the ward placed the annual report of the ward. Helen Lewis placed the annual report of St Sabastian and Fathima Women Self-help groups.

The achievers in various fields were felicitated during the occasion. Rohan Lewis conducted the various spot games. Meanwhile youngest and oldest participants were also felicitated. Entertainments like dance and singing held on the occasion. Fr. Lawrence distributed the prizes for the winners in various games.

Sunila Lewis delivered vote of thanks while Grashel Lewis compered the programme. Lunch was served to all the participants during the celebrations of annual Ward feast.
