Kundapura : In order to maintain welfare of the fishermen, the State government will introduce several welfare of the fishermen community in the state after the election. Due to model code of conduct, the coalition government could not comment on welfare of the fishermen schemes, H. D. Kumaraswamy, Chief Minister of Karnataka.

After receiving several demands by the fishermen, H D Kumaraswamy said that he could not comment on these demands as model code of conduct was in force, the coalition government has always been committed to the welfare of the fishermen community. After go through the various demands by the fishermen, he said that fishermen problems not such big, but he will try to fulfill the demands of the fishermen.

He said, the government will try to change life of the fishermen completely. Fishermen community leader G. Shankar has given me several problems of the fishermen now and then. It would be no such problem to waive the loan of fishermen as we waived the loan of farmers. The coalition government already planned to provide various schemes to the fishermen, he said.

The coalition government continuously touched with Union government and defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman in regard to missing of boat and fishermen. But, Shobha Karandlaje not done anything to trace the missing boat and missing fishermen, he said.

Since nine and half months, the coalition government had not seen a single incident of communal violence in three coastal districts. People of the state wanted to lead a peaceful and orderly life. After Bengaluru, it was the coastal districts, which were most developed in the state. The BJP had only divisive issues to offer, people should not get taken in by it. But the coalition government was committed to development, CM said.

Earlier, Chief Minister gave apology to the fishermen for the delay. Due to non availability of Helicopter, he forced to attend the meet by road. He alleged Union government responsible to not providing Helicopter even though he booked the same before eight days.

H D Kumaraswamy said that BJP trying to misled the youths in the name of Modi. Those who use the name of Modi are unaware of the work carried out by the Union government. The economy has been hit by the policies of Union government. The unemployment rate so worst that the youths not get jobs, he said.

Prior to the arrival of chief minister, Dr. Jayamala Minister of state, Gopala Poojary former MLA and Congress-JD(S) candidate Pramod Madhwaraj spoke during the convention.
