Udupi : This election is between lies of Bharatiya Janata Party and truth of Congress party, said Ivan D’Souza MLC and secretary of Revenue Department for Chief Minister.
Addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan here on Saturday, April 6, Ivan D’Souza said that BJP in 2014 came to power by so many promises for the people of the country. But it would not succeed to fulfill the promises for the people. Siddaramaih the former chief minister of Karnataka was fulfilled all promises which he gave to the people. The Congress will stick to truth, if it is unpalatable, Ivan D’Souza said.
Ivan said that what is contribution of the Modi government for Karnataka state? What the initiatives are taken by Modi government for the development of the state, he asks. Congress party needs dialogue with the BJP in regard to development of the society. Modi made rich people to richer and made poor to poorer people. There should need accountability of BJP for the people of the state, he said.
There is severe threat to the democratic system of the nation. BJP MP Ananth Kumar Hegde said that BJP need to change the Indian Constitution. The system of democratic system of the country surely effected, he said.
He accuses BJP that for the minorities, no seats were allotted in the election. BJP only stick on Hindutva and asks votes to Modi, he alleged.
He said that Pramod Madhwaraj Congress and JDS coalition candidate for the Udupi-Chickmagaluru Constituency will surely win in the election.
Several BJP workers joined the Congress Party after the press meet and Ivan D’Souza handed over Congress flags to new entrants in Congress Party.
Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Dinesh Puthran, M A Gaffoor, Naveenchandra Shetty, Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor and other congress leaders were present during the press meet.
