Udupi : The mustering was held for Udupi-Chickmagaluru Lok Sabha Constituency, Udupi district at St Cecily’s Educational Campus here on Tuesday, April, 17.

All officials of the election have gathered since 7.30 am on Tuesday at the St Cecily’s Educational campus on election duty.

All the EVMs and VVPATs were dispatched from the school to polling booths as soon as the lunch. Comparatively the previous legislative elections, the district administration has good arrangements has done this time during Lok Sabha election mustering. Buses and transport vehicles for transporting election officials were parked on the school ground instead outside public roads outside the school.

Earlier, Hephsiba Rani Korlapati Deputy Commissioner, Vidya Kumari Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nisha James Superintendent of Police and the election observers were opened the strong room.

Speaking to media persons, Pradeep Kurdekar, Udupi Tahsildhar said that two strong rooms required for the two strong rooms for each constituency. There should need 32 rooms which so far there is no school that large in Udupi. Therefore, the election commission decided to hold counting in the same school, he said.

The district police will look after the security at mustering centre. Hence, Election commission has been installed around 105 CCTVs and it will easier to close view of activities of officials.

Tahsildhar said that the district administration has given exemption to 35 Christian community staff for the election duty. All necessary arrangements have been made in relate to food. Three doctors along with three nurses have been provided in the mustering centers. Medical kit for each booth has been provided. About 80% of private buses have been used for transportation, he said.

The morning breakfast and lunch has arranged for 2,250 election duty officials and other personnel at the school campus. The counting process will be done in St Cecily’s School, Udupi.
