Udupi : The investiture ceremony of Milagres College Students’ Welfare Council for 2019/20 held at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall, Kallianpur on Friday, July 12, 2019.

The programme began with invocation by the students of the college. Very Rev Dr. Lawrence C. D’Souza Correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions was presided over the programme. Dr. Alwyn D’Sa Associate Professor of English and Controller of Examinations, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangalore was the investiture officer for the inauguration of Students’ Welfare Council.

The investiture officer Dr. Alwyn D’Sa decorated the President elect of Students’ Welfare Council Sherwin Olivera with the presidential attire. Then the Principal Dr. Vincent Alva administered the pledge and oath from Sherwin Olivera and office bearers of SWC. The President elect Sherwin Olivera administered the pledge and oath to the class representatives.

Dr. Herald Monis, Director of SWC welcomed the gatherings and placed the introduction on investiture officer Dr. Alwyn D’Sa.

Dr. Alwyn D’Sa along with the Correspondent and other inaugurated the programme with lighting the lamp.

In his address Dr. Alwyn D’Sa appreciated the organizers initiative for beautiful ceremony. He pointed out the successful leaders to lead and create leaders. The students’ leader should create leaders in sports and other activities of the college. They should identify the talents and guidance for the students. The idea of transformational leadership will creates an inspiring vision of the future. The leaders’ ability to motivate and inspire a person that helps them delivers the vision of good leader. The value of hardwork and labour has very important to successful leader, he said.

The students’ leader should be recognized by the college and the society whole. Hence, good labour and hardwork towards his leadership has necessary. The students’ leader should do permanent project inside the college campus which is something new and permanent for several years. Go out the society in villages and create something permanently which can possible to remember by the society what you have done, he said.

The President of the event Rev Dr. Lawrence C D’Souza was released the College Annual Magazine, Miracles. In his presidential address, Rev Dr. Lawrence also appreciated the organizers of the grand event. He impressed the invocation prayer song by the students. He said there is no privilege without responsibility. Privilege becomes meaningful and needful also. The student creates something useful and relevant for the college and the society will be remembered to be good.

Surakshitha General Secretary of SWC proposed vote of thanks. Brenda Lobo and Juster Cardoza compered the programme.

The programme winded up with singing national anthem. Former Principals, teachers, professors and managing committee members were present.
