Udupi : Brahmavar Police arrested two suspected car thieves and confiscated five cars which were reportedly stolen and sold by them to the public.
As per the media released by the police, said that the suspects used to express their interest to buy cars on lease and those on sale on OLX. The culprits offering token advance and prepare an agreement and then take the vehicles to a distant place, convince the intending buyers that the suspects are the real owners of the vehicles and then sell the vehicles to them.
Sunil (31), a resident of Hosuru village near Brahmavar complained to the Brahmavar police and registered a case on suspects Ibrahim from Mangaluru, Abdulla a resident of Padpu, Bajal, Mangaluru who presently staying in a rented house in Thokkottu, Mangaluru and Mohamed Safan(22) a resident of Vittal in Bantwal Taluk of D.K. district.
Abdulla (33), the second suspected in vehicle thief and a suspected in murder attempt cases registered in Bellare and Bajpe police stations.
Under the guidance of Jayashanker T. R. DySP of Udupi and Srikanth, Brahmavar Police Sub-inspector Raghavendra and directions from the Senior police officers of the district arrested Abdulla and Safan and confiscated vehicles sold by them to Shivakumar frm Ballari.
Police have confiscated a Scorpio car worth Rs. 5 lac, Mahindra XUV500 car worth Rs 15 lac, an I-20 sports car worth Rs 4 lac, a Mahindra RUV car worth Rs. 7lac and Brezza car worth about Rs 8 lac. The total value of cars recovered worth Rs 39 lac.
