Karnataka rain: Kumaraswamy reaches Belagavi to visit flood-hit areas
Rescue and relief operations by the NDRF, SDRF, Army, Navy, and Fire and Emergency Services, along with volunteers, have continued in the districts of north Karnataka
Even as reduced intensity of rain in the region accelerated relief and rescue operations in the districts of north Karnataka, the overall flood situation continues to be still grim.
Former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has reached Belagavi to visit flood-hit areas.
Rescue and relief operations by the NDRF, SDRF, Army, Navy, and Fire and Emergency Services, along with volunteers, have continued in the districts, resulting in rescue and evacuation of close to 1,500 people affected by the increased water level.
Janardhana Poojary shifted from house

About 300 people were saved in Belthangady taluk after flash floods in the Netravathi and its tributaries hit Didupe, Mittabagilu, Killuru, Kadirudyavara, Neriya and Charmadi areas in the taluk between 3.30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on August 9
Rescue operations continue in Chikkamagaluru
Chikkamagaluru: Following heavy rains and flooding, many villages in Mudigere, N.R.Pura, Koppa and Sringeri taluks are cut off from the neighbouring villages and towns. The roads are flooded, forcing the people to remain indoors.
The district administration is rescuing the affected people with the help of boats. Minor bridges and footbridges, which connected many villages to nearby major roads, have collapsed.
