Udupi : Former Minister Pramod Madhwaraj had contested on a Janata Dal Secular party ticket from Udupi-Chckmagaluru parliamentary constituency. The day Pramod Madhwaraj got ticket from the JDS ticket, automatically he was lost the membership of the Congress, said former Chief Minster and senior leade3r of Congress party Veerappa Moily.

Answering a question by the media persons during the press meet held at Congress Bhavan here on Saturday, August 31, Veeerappa Moily said that he don’t want to speak much about Pramod Madhawaraj’s party at present. Moily asked the media it would be better to ask with Pramod Madjwaraj party that which party he belongs to now?

Veerappa Moily said that the impact of flood situation in the state never such before and state is facing very difficult situation which not common problem. There has been more than Rs. 5 lakh crores losses due to severe flood in the state. Neither Union government nor state government has serious about the flood losses in the state.  It is an natural calamity. Prime Minister of Union government not assessed the situation. In Maharastra due to flood situation, the state government declared the compensation already. But BJP government failed to face the flood losses in Karnataka, he alleged.

Union government without discussion in implementing major decision, in the night taking decisions and in the morning makes announcements. Demonetization, taking decision on merger of various public sector banks, revocation of the special status for Jammu and Kashmir and so on, the Union government without proper discussion brought the decision.

Moily said that the merger of 10 public sector banks, describing it as reckless and being done without proper discussion. 10 banks had their own identities. The four nationalized banks which had taken their birth in undivided Dakshina Kannada had laid emphasis on providing banking to the rural area with the intention to upgrade the economic position of the poor people. The four nationalized banks are cradle of undivided DK district, it would be insult to the district. We should strongly condemn the merger of these banks, he said.

He alleged that there was undeclared financial emergency in the country. It would be not so easy to normalize the economy of the country at this juncture.

Asking a question, it may possible that due to weak opposition of the country, the hasty decision have been taken in major issues of the country. It would be not good for the democracy point of view. We should not take such arbitrary decisions, he said.

Asking another on present situation of the Congress party, Moily said that we cannot take Congress party as a weak. There was like now situation before also in the party. We should consider that Congress party cannot take into lightly, he said.
