Udupi: There is a need to create a work environment free of stress and love for teachers in creating a better future for the students and creating a better civilized society. "The government is committed to alleviating the confusion that has brought about a slight change in the mandatory transfer," said Kota Srinivasa Poojary, Minister of Fisheries and Ports.

He said that percentage of total teachers in the state Sixty to 65 percent of women teachers are forced to work in a state of mental stress due to mandatory transfers. The Minister of State is fully confident that all the problems of the teachers will be genuinely addressed and resolved. Teachers need not worry about this.

He was speaking on the inaugural address in Adarsh Outstanding Teachers’ Awards and Free Health Check and information Camp for teachers on the occasion of Birthday celebrations of Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and Teachers’ Day which was organized by Adarsh Hospital with the collaboration of Department of Public Education, Udupi on Sunday 15, 2019.

There are more than 2 lakh teachers in the state and more than 1 crore students are receiving hot food facilities. "From elementary to graduate education, there is a need to create a respectful and comfortable environment for teachers and educators."

Adarsh Hospital Managing Director Dr.G.S. Chandrashekhar said the role of children in the country’s change has increased, so that the role of the teacher is to play a role in making children responsible, making mistakes and making them a better society.

During the occasion the felicitated teachers were Ramanna Naik, Sitaram Shetty, Shankara Shirur, Santosh Bhandari, Pradeep Kumar P., Vedavathi, Kundapur Zone, Seethalakshmi, Kiran Kumar B., Chidananda, Shubha Shet, B.S. Uday Kumar Hegde, Mahabaleshwar Chidambaram Bhagwat.

Teachers felicitated from the Brahmavara zone were G. Udaya Mayya, Manjunatha Naik Chantaru, Abhilasha S., Vatsala, K.. Kirana Hegde, Bhaskara Poojary, Karkala Zone, Sudarsha Shetty, Laxman Salvankar, Prithviraj Ballal, Shivaprasad Adiga S., Dr. Kanti Harish, Vinaya.

Helen Victoria Salins, Shakuntala Devi, Style Prema Kumari, Jyoti Lata Lobo, Savita S., Soumya Amin were presented with the Outstanding Teacher Award from Udupi Zone.

Former minister Pramod Madhvaraj, deputy director of public education department, Seshayesha Karinja, spoke during the occasion.

The hospital’s senior medical expert Dr. N.R. Rao, neurologist a. Raja, Senior Ayurveda Specialist Sridhara Bhayari and Vimala Chandrasekhar were present. Teacher Prashant Shetty Havanje compered the program.
