Biography of DR. GABRIEL FERNANDES released for public…..

Village to College - A biography of renowned research Scientist Dr. Gabriel Fernandes was released for public here in the Daijiworld Udupi Office, Udupi by Kavita Trust President Mr. Kishore Gonsalves in a simple ceremony, held on Wednesday, 18th September at 3.00pm. In his address he recalled the meeting with the genius in the airport for the first time and a friendship retained for lifetime, though he is half of his age. This book will serve as a lamppost to students to aspire for greater things in life, there is no short cut than hard-work and determination…’A man rose from literally nothing, to a place of Professor emeritus in University of Texas USA, is a unique success story’ the well-known, poet, writer Mr. Kishoo Barkur, added. The content, quality presentation and exhaustive research in the compilation are visible while going through the about 150 pages he concluded….

A popular theater personality, a well-known drama writer and film actor Mr. Alwyn Andrade was the Chief Guest who shared his acquaintance with Dr. Fernandes, a scholar with a generous heart, during the days of executing much needed road to Moodahadu Kudru and home for homeless in his village Moodahadu…He is more than a great Scientist but a human being first he told….

In the beginning Mr. Kevin Rodrigues,     Manager, of Daijiworld, Udupi Operations, welcomed the gathering and briefed the intention to have this programme here, though officially the Biography released in San Antonio Texas, USA in the august presence of Dr. Fernandes himself. He added that a plan was there to invite Dr. Fernandes to India, however the octogenarian at his 84 find it difficult to travel.
Mr. Franklyn Fernandes, another guest and family member, shared his feelings on this occasion and expected that this book must reach to all Universities and Colleges in particular….

Mr. Archibald Furtado who compiled and edited this Biography, thanked everyone including media friends,  who cooperated in his attempt to collect facts and this small mission to record this life story of Dr. Fernandes….Various Scholars, writers, priests, and friends of Dr. Gabriel Fernandes shared their feelings over here, he told ‘ this is a unique feature of this book’….Of course, it’s not an all-inclusive life story of a great personality, still we made a small beginning and many such achievers must be introduced to the society so that, the present generation may be motivated by reading about Dr. Gabriel Fernandes as a model, ideal in their life…..

Copies of the Biography has been distributed free of cost to the audience and the organizers informed that books will be dispatched and delivered to all Colleges in the Mangalore University soon.
