Udupi : A symbolic protest was held on Friday after Zuma Namaz in various mosques in Udupi, in opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Bill, which divided the country on the basis of religion and faith, destroying the secular treasury and the aspirations of the country.

Speaking at the Udupi Jamia mosque, Yasin Malpe, president of the Udupi District Muslim Union, accused the bill of creating a climate of hostility, distrust and divisiveness among different communities living in the country for thousands of years.

The bill is part of the RSS Sangha Parivar’s plan to make the Muslims of this country second-class citizen who have been born in this country and dedicated their lives to this country and sacrificed their lives in the struggle for independence. Until the central government withdraws the bill, there will be a different phase, he said.

During the protest Mosque’s Maulana Rasheed Ahmad Nadvi, General Secretary of the Union Muhammad Maula, Mosque President Yasin Syed, Hussein Kodibengre, Salawuddin Abdullah, Masjid member Khalid, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Udupi State Secretary Nisar Uppinakote, SIO State leader Yashin Kodibengre, PFI district president Nazeer Ambagilu were present.

Haji Abu Bakr Najor, Chairman of the Mosque Governance Committee, Khatib Usman Madani, Vice President Qasim Najar, Secretary Idinabba Saheb, Noufal Madani Najar, Shamir Misbahi Najar and others were present during the protests at the Najar Mosque.

Mosque President Ismail Athradi, Secretary Abdul Hameed, Treasurer Suleiman Alqasimi, Khatib Ummer Madani were present during the protests at the mosque in Athrady Muhiyuddin Zuma mosque.

Similarly, the Udupi Anjuman Zuma Mosque, Hoode Kadimi Jamia Masjid, Hoode Jadeed Jamia Mosque, Benjre Jamui Masjid, Udupi Masjidi Masjidi, Malpe Jamina Masadi, Malpe Madina Jamia Masadi, Malpe Madina Jama Masjid, Shantinagar Madina Mosque, Brahmavara Ranganakere Zuma Mosque, Kunjalu Nooru Jamia Mosque protests were held which large number of people participated.
