Udupi : Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji, Senior Pontiff of Admar Mutt on Monday announced that Sri Ishapriya Theertha Swamiji, Junior seer of Admar Mutt for the first time would ascend the Paryaya 2020/22.

Addressing a media conference held at the Admar Moola Math at Admar near Mudarangadi on Monday, January 6, Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji Senior seer of Admar Mutt said that I had performed my first Paryaya in 1988-90 with the help of Shri Vishwapriya Theertha Swami followed by the second first Paryaya was performed independently by the order of Shri Vibudhesha Theertha Swamiji in 2004-06. I follow my senior Guru Vibhudesha Theertha Swami who had ascended only two paryayas, 1956/58 and 1972/74. I also completed two Paryayas in 1988/90 and 2004/06. Hence, I also like my guru to hand over the rights to ascend the Paryaya throne to my disciple Ishapriya Theertha Swami.  I ordered my best disciple Ishapriya Theertha Swami to perform third Paryaya in 2020/21.

Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji said that my guru told me to ascend the paryaya and I followed him to do so. Likewise I requested to my disciple Ishapriya Theertha to ascend the forthcoming Paryaya 2020/21. He happily received my order by my disciple and I will guide him every movements during his two years of the Paryaya tenure.

To a question, Senior seer said that as per the tradition and custom of the Sri Krishna Mutt, the Paryaya prayers offered to Lord Krishna, Avasara Sanakadi Pooje, Maha Pooje and Ratri Chamara Seve which will be only performed by Ishapriya Theertha Swami. However, the remaining all necessary pujas will be offered by me or other seers of the Ashta Mutts, he said.

Senior Swami said that I will support to my junior to attend to all his duties and responsibilities. I will be always with my junior during the paryaya period. However, I will concentrate more on the development of educational institutions under the Mutt, he said.

To a question, Senior Swami said that on rainwater harvesting system adopted in his Mutt. There is severe shortage of water everywhere. Hence, we planned to have rainwater harvest system in the Mutt, he said.

Shri Ishapriya Theertha Swami said that traditions and rituals have their own significance. They were stipulated by ancestors with purpose. We understand the traditional practices gave certain importance. As per the custom and tradition, same will continue as per the guidance of my senior swami.

To a query, Ishapriya Theertha Swami said that I will try to continue things to the best of my abilities, to continue with things that are happening there in the Mutt. Some of the rituals have to be retained due to devotees want them to continue. I wish to do activities which are connected to nature and eco-friendly, he said.
