Udupi : When food is clean, heart and mind will become clean. Such characters will remains in the students. Elders can complaint about the food, but students never complain about the food and whatever they will consume with clean and good atmosphere. But elders not like that, said Shri Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Palimar Math.

He was speaking after inauguration of the Shri Krishna prasada – Chinnara Santharpane at Sri Krishna Math here on Friday, February 14.

Shri Vishwapriya Theertha Swami said that the scheme will be followed next two years. The scheme will beneficial for the students of several Kannanda medium aided and unaided schools.

Earlier, Sri Vishwapriya Theertha Swami of Paryaya Admar Mutt and Shri Ishapriya Theertha Swami junior seer of  Admar Mutt distributed sweets to students coming under Chinnara Santharpane scheme at Anna Brahma dinning hall in Sri Krishna Mutt.

Addressing the gathering K Raghupathy Bhat said that Sri Krishna Temple was rendering social service by providing midday meals and uniforms to students of aided and unaided schools in Udupi district. The scheme was launched by Vidyadheesha Theerta Swami of Palimar Muttt during his previous Paryaya period in 2002-2004 for schools in the district and it had been continued the seers of the Ashta Mutts during their Paryaya periods.

This midday meal programme had impressed the then Chief Minister S M Krishna and later he launched Akshara Dasoha midday meal scheme for government schools in the state based on the Chinnara Santharpane scheme. Since the government schools were covered by the Akshara Dasoa scheme, Sri Krishna temple started providing the necessary food grains and other materal for the midday meals for aided and unaided schools in the district since 16 years. This scheme was most beneficial to students in rural areas of the district, Bhat said.

In his second Paryaya period of Sri Vishwapriya Theertha Swami of Admar Mutt, had got toilets constructed for schools in rural areas. He had also helped several poor patients by providing them with financial aid.

Lot of good programmes go to show the social services which the Sri Krishna Mutt is rendering without resorting to publicity, he said.

Sri Ishapriya Theertha Swami, junior seer of Paryaya Admar Mutt who presided over the programme and said it is essential that students got quality meals as it would help them concentrate on their studies as well.

Dr. G. Shankar of Dr.G Shankar Family Trust, Yashpal Suvarna president of Dakshina kannada Districts Fish Marketing Federation, Dr. Harishchandra, Ramesh A Bangera and Prakash Shetty were present on the dais.
