Udupi : The Annual Day Celebrations of the Milagres College, Kallianpur held at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall, here on Saturday, March 7, 2020.

Very Rev Fr. Dr. Lawrence C D’Souza Correspondent of Milagres Institutions was presided over the programme. Earlier, the invocation song was held by Milagres College Choir team. Very Rev Fr. Dr. Lawrence C D’Souza released the college Newsletter ‘Voice of Milagres’.

Prof. Surekha Bhat, Secretary of Staff Council, welcomed the gatherings. Dr. Vincent Alva Principal of Milagres College presented the long academic report. Meanwhile, Dr Alva briefed on the college plan for the future.

Dr. Appaji Gowda S B, Joint Director, Collegiate Education, Mangaluru Region was the chief guest. Stephen Cornelio, (Alumnus 1984 B.Com batch), Finance Director of Vitol Dubai Ltd was the guest of honor.

A tribute was held for Milagres College former office accountant late David Crasta during the programme. Meanwhile, Ms Kavya Pai, Firth Rank in B.Sc Examination 2018/19, Mangalore University was felicitated along with her mother.

Meanwhile Mr Dhawan Kumar Shetty, Gold Medal in Financial Accounting B Com Examination 2018/19, Mangalore University and MS Anusha Tauro, Gold Medal in Financial Accounting BCom Examination 2018/19 Mangalore University were felicitated for their achievement.

In his chief guest address, Dr. Appaji Gowda said that the Christian Missionary Educational Institutions provided education to our society irrespective of caste3 and religion. There are more youths in India compared to other countries in the world. There should need to go in good atmosphere of education for our youths. Youth should need to understand for their correct way of life without any wrong way. They should avoid the wrong path in life in order to success in their career.

He further said that there could be problems to face in our student life. Problems will come, but need to solve every problem. Students need to face every problem without thinking in wrong way. We need to find out our strength and correct our weakness to strength. We have lot of opportunities to success. We should give importance for the opportunities. Then the personality can be developed when opportunities are succeeded, he said.

Stephen Cornelio, Alumnus and Entrepreneur was felicitated during the programme. He said that it is great privilege to one of part of the college annual day celebrations. He appreciated the college for outstanding achievements in various fields like academic and sports.

Endowment prizes were distributed to the achievers during the programme. Very Rev Dr. Lawrence C D’Souza gave his presidential address and gave gratitude to the concerned. Dr. Herald Monis and Mrs Chandrika Directors of Students Welfare Council, Sherwin D’Souza President of SWC, Surakshitha Secretary SWC were present on the dais.

A cultural programme by the students was held after the noon brake.
