Udupi: The SSLC examinations in the state are facing a Covid dilemma. The examinations will not be canceled. Instead, we will take the necessary precautionary measures to test the safety of the children and the confidence of the children, said the Minister of Education Suresh Kumar.

Addressing a media conference after the review meeting at Zilla Panchayat hall on Tuesday, June 9 with District Panchayat CEOs, DDPIs and BEOs of Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada said that the Karnataka High Court has also instructed the government to conduct the SSLC examinations and gave some guidance and instructions. The examinations will be conducted in accordance with it.

According to a report submitted to the High Court on the precautionary measures taken by the government to conduct a SSLC examination in the state, the Thermal Scanner, Mask, Sanitizer and Social Gap are taking all kinds of precautionary measures. Maximum safety is given to the student in a manner that does not bring any disadvantage to the exam methods, create a comfortable environment for the children on examination. Teachers and parents should be encouraged to write exams without any anxiety, said minister A Suresh Kumar.

18 children, instead of 24, are placed in a exam hall as usual for exams. Those who are in the containment zone will be allowed to write in the next supplementary test if they are unable to write the exam. The test is carried out between each child and each desk by 3.5 feet. All the children will be wearing mask and writing exams. It is a system. We have already made arrangement to provide two masks for each student. Sanitizer is also provided to each students and prior to exams, health checks for all the children to be held. A thermal scanner is being installed for every 200 students, minister said.

We are giving instruction that during the examinations, students should bring hot water for drinking from their houses.

The High Court has instructed to arrange necessary transport to bring the children to the examination center. Meeting with the Minister of State Transport was held. A survey of children is being carried out for transportation. Minister Suresh Kumar said that the route map is also being prepared and there should be no confusion among the children. He said that children are getting ready for exams and should only focus on it.

Of the 34 educational districts in the state, 28 have already I was visited the district, I reviewed the preparation for the SSLC exams. Minister Suresh Kumar said that action has been taken as per the HC directive to have a dialogue with the officials and representatives of the respective districts.

Minister Suresh Kumar said that the current school line will be shortened so as to discuss the shortening of school curriculum with senior officials of the Department of Education and education specialists, the shortage of text in the next class of students will be limited.
