Print Catholic Sabha, Mount Rosary Church Unit celebrate Van-Mahotsava on 1st August, 2020.
Van–mahotsava, a Festival of Trees has been a regular event and movement, for many years, in our parish, under the leadership of Catholic Sabha, to bring awareness campaign among the parishioners to understand and promote planting of trees and their protection, by distributing various saplings / trees etc. free of cost…..
This year under the prevailing threat of Coid19 pandemic, which is restricting the gathering of people, for safety, the celebration was a low key affair…..
Office Bearers of the Catholic Sabha, under its President Mrs. Jyoty Lewis assembled at Mr. William and its Joint Secretary, Mrs. Maria Wilma Rego’s Compound at 4.15 pm and symbolically planted few trees.
Later, all who present were allotted various saplings / trees / seedlings /plants, for nursing themselves and to distribute them in the neighborhood and spread the message of green surrounding which bring down global warming and clean environment by reducing pollution….
Former President of the unit Mr. Elias D’Souza took initiative to organize saplings of various fruit bearing plants / medicinal herbs from the Govt. Forest Department & Nurseries.
