282 new cases for coronavirus test positive on August 9 in Udupi district, tally increases to 6201

Udupi : Two Hundred and Eighty Two new cases tested for Coronavirus positive reported on Sunday, August 9, which taking the total positive cases in the district so far to 6201.
According to the district health bulletin, among 282 covid positive cases, 77 cases reported as symptomatic which 48 are male and 29 are females, meanwhile out of 205 cases of asymptomatic, 99 are males and 106 are females. The sources of infection are contacts 132, Influenza like illness (ILI) 69, Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) 6, Under Investigation 66, Domestic Traveller 6 and international traveler are 3. Among 282 positive cases, positives cases from Udupi 152, from Kundapura 86, from Karkala taluk 43 and from out of district are one.
Details of admissions/Isolation on August 9 are as: Out of 282 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are 173 and 109 are in Home Isolation. Total admissions for isolation are 6194 including 1705 on today.
A total of 44,824 samples have been collected so far including 1383 on Sunday, out of which 929 are covid suspects, 175 are covid contacts, 4 are SARI, 45 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 230.
A total of 37,325 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 1343 on Sunday and 1298 reports are awaited.
As many as 6201 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 282 on Sunday, August 9.
As many as 3444 patients have been discharged so far, including 97 discharged today on August 9, which 48 patients are discharged from Covid hospitals and 49 from Home Isolation. 2687 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 1412 and in home are 1285.
Till today Sixty persons COVID=19 deaths have occurred in the district. No deaths reported today on August 9.
