Udupi :  District in-charge and Home Minister Basavaraja Bommayi said the authorities should be willing to accept the challenge of natural disaster flood work and Covid-19 control solutions.

He was speaking after presiding over a meeting with officials on rain damage at the district panchayat hall of Rajathadri on Tuesday, August 11.

He said local youth volunteers, including officers at the village panchayat level, should be trained and trained in village level disaster management plans to deal with rain damage solutions.

He said that the report of the committee should be prepared on a daily basis with the TPM executives at the taluk level and the deputy secretaries at the district level.

He said each group was geographically diverse and designed accordingly, so that more deaths could be prevented the cattle mortality and property damage, and that emergency measures could soon be avoided. Nowadays, rainfall is not routine and there is a possibility of heavy rains in the area. These should be kept in mind, along with the fact that wind speeds are usually 20 km per hour and now 50 km / hr loud, causing more hazards.

Extreme rainfall has resulted in the loss of agricultural and horticultural crops. Based on soil erosion, they can only be provided with a proper solution when conducting a preliminary survey by village accountants, PDO and Agricultural along with Horticulture officials with modern technology.  He said it would be possible to provide relief through the NDRF guidelines.

He said that when a house is damaged in the district, it should be treated as a homestead, and the compensation from humanity based on the accuracy of the damage should be compensated when compensating for the damage.

The district has so far witnessed 2115 meter of sea erosion, with a total loss of Rs 18.95 crore. He said that an estimated amount of money will be sought for the release of grants by philanthropists, panchayat rajs, engineers and local bodies for the repair of the rain-damaged roads.

In regard to flood effected victims will be required to construct rehabilitation centers in taluks at the cost of Rs. 5 crore and these rehabilitation centers could be useful for other needs, he said.

He said that in relate to the number of cases of COViD-19 in the district, he said the testing should be done more, the number of ventilator beds should be increased and should the treatment be better.

Raghupathy Bhat Udupi MLA appealed for immediate release of relief installments for those affected due to rain and should upgrade the district hospital.

Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar said that in 94C the house will be given a right and no license and if the houses are damaged, they too will be compensated.

At the meeting, Byndoor MLA Sukumar Shetty, Coastal Development Authority Chairman Mattaru Ratnakara Hegde, District Panchayat President Dinakar Babu, Vice President Sheela Shetty, District Collector G Jagadeesh, Chief Executive Officer Preethi Gehlot, Superintendent of Police Vishnuvardhan and Additional District Collecter Sadashiva Prabhu and other officials were also present.
