Udupi : Teachers’ career is one of the greatest careers in the profession. The role of teachers is important in shaping the value of students’ lives, said Raghupathy Bhat Udupi MLA.

He was speaking at the Teachers’ Day celebration on Saturday, September  5 at the St Cecily’s School campus  under the auspices of the Udupi District Panchayat, the Office of the Deputy Director of the Public Education Department and Block Education office, Udupi.

Last year, a state-level teachers’ convention was called for in the Udupi district, with Dr G Shankar appealing, but was unable to do so due to the corona pandemic, MLA said. Teachers’ Day should be celebrated in the next year by the children of the respective schools and later in the Taluk District level. The importance of teachers should be kept in mind by the children in every school, he said.

Teachers’ efforts are needed to come first in the SSLC next year. Here is a good education system with educational quality in the district. Teacher responsibility stressors are even greater. "There is a need for a change in education. Teachers can only teach their children new practices, teaching styles and practices.", Bhat said.

Zilla Panchayat President Dinakara Babu said teachers’ role is important for the educational quality of the district.

 Lalaji R Mendan, Kaup MLA said, "Guru is the key to education." Good teachers are always memorable in the lives of students. He said professional education is needed in the future to meet the challenge of students today.

In his keynote address, District Collector G Jagadeesh, teachers have a great role in shaping the lives of students. Teachers should follow the path of Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and Abdul Kalam. Teachers have collaborated with the district administration during Corona. Those who are not interested in teaching children, who are not persistent, cannot be teachers. He said that if he loves children more than his family, he can become an ideal teacher if he wins the hearts of children.

During the programme, retired teachers, district award winners and state level award winners teachers for last year were honored and felicitated.
