Udupi : As many as 247 new cases tested for coronavirus positive reported on Tuesday, September 8, which takes the total positive cases in the district so far to 12,727. Likewise, spike of seven succumbed death in the district.

According to the district health bulletin to the media, among 247 covid positive cases, 130 cases reported as symptomatic,  out of which 82 are male and 48 are females, meanwhile out of 117 cases of asymptomatic, 61 are males and 56 are females. The sources for infection are contacts 0, influenza like illness(ILI) 11, Severe Acute Respiratory illness(SARI) 6, Under investigation 226, Domestic Traveler 4 and international traveler is nil.

Among 247 positive cases, whereas positive cases from Udupi are 115, from Kundapura 83 and Karkala taluk 45 and from out of district are 4.

Details of admissions/Isolation on September 8 are: Out of 247 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are 77 and Home Isolation are 170. Total admissions for Covid Care Centre, Designated Covid hospital and designated covid health hospital are 7172 including 77 today. Total Home Isolation is 5908 including 170 today. Total number of admission and isolation till today are 13,080 including 247 today on September 8.

A total of 79,489 samples have been collected so far including 1424 on Tuesday, September 8, out of which 1146 are covid suspects, 134 are covid contacts, 11 are SARI, 69 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 64.

A total of 66,091 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 1057 on today and 311 test reports are pending.

As many as 13,087 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 247 on Tuesday, September 8.

As many as 11,124 patients have been discharged so far, including 178 discharged today on Tuesday, September 8, which 77 patients are discharged from Covid Hospitals and 101 from Home Isolation, 1844 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 876 and in home are 968.

Till today 121 persons succumbed to death due to Coronavirus in the district. Today on Tuesday, September highest spike of seven succumbed deaths are reported in the district.

Six deaths from Udupi taluk, out of that five are males and one females and one female from Kundapura taluk reported on today.
