Udupi : As many as 215 new cases tested for coronavirus positive reported on Saturday, September 19, which takes the total positive cases in the district crosses 15,000.

According to the district health bulletin to the media, among 215 covid positive cases, 112 cases reported as symptomatic,  out of which 80 are male and 32 are females, meanwhile out of 103 cases of asymptomatic, 53 are males and 50 are females. The sources for infection are contacts 98, influenza like illness(ILI) 68, Severe Acute Respiratory illness(SARI) 3, Under investigation 45, Domestic Traveler 1 and international traveler is nil.

Among 215 positive cases, whereas positive cases from Udupi are 121, from Kundapura 50 and Karkala taluk 35 and from out of district are 9.

Details of admissions/Isolation on September 19 are: Out of 215 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are 66 and Home Isolation are 149. Total admissions for Covid Care Centre, Designated Covid hospital and designated covid health hospital are 7758 including 66 today. Total Home Isolation is 7333 including 149 today. Total number of admission and isolation till today are 15,091 including 215 today on September 19.

A total of 93,528 samples have been collected so far including 1054 on Saturday, September 19, out of which 808 are covid suspects, 93 are covid contacts, 2 are SARI, 46 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 105.

A total of 78,240 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 858 on today and 190 test reports are pending.

As many as 15,098 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 215 on Saturday, September 19.

As many as 13,621 patients have been discharged so far, including 311 discharged today on Saturday, September 19, which 82 patients are discharged from Covid Hospitals and 229 from Home Isolation, 1337 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 770 and in home are 567.

Till today 140 persons succumbed to death due to Coronavirus in the district, including one death, a male aged 52 years old from Udupi on Saturday, September 19.
