Print Two arrested for serial theft in Kundapur
Udupi, Oct 5, 2020: Police arrested two persons in connections with the threes theft cases which took place a year ago. The first theft took place on May 5, 2019, at Mullugudde, Kavradi village. The second theft took place on June 17, 2019, at Kolkeri, Basrur village and the third theft took place on November 26, 2019.
In the first case house roof tiles were removed to steal gold, silver, iron box and cash worth of Rs. 64900/. 2nd case also thief entered through the roof to steal jewellery and cash worth Rs. 2 Lakhs. 3rd incident took place at Kundapur Railway guest house when the resident was out in the night. In the second incident the resident was out for work.
Piadas Lopis (29),a resident of Doditala Church and Gangadhar (40)resident of thokkette were the arrested by police who were involved in serial theft in Kundapur.
Wilson used to steal the gold and Gandadhar used to mortgage it at co-operative society in Kundapur as well as selling at different places and both used the share the amount. Wilson was out on bail for similar theft before. Cases against him are pending at Bhatkar and Manki police stations.
Police have recovered 64.76 grams of gold and 112 grams of silver and an ironing box. The police team has submitted the recovered jewellery to the court.
Udupi police in-charge Vishnuvardhan has instructed SI Kumarchandra and IPS Hariram Shankar to lead the investigation team. The investigation team included PSI Rajkumar, Shankarnarayan station PSI Shridhar Nayak, Kundapur rural station PSI Sadashiv also Kundapur rural police station officers Satish, Anil, Manjunath, Santosh, Sitaram, Victor, Gururaj, Uday, driver Ravindra, Suresh and CDR department officer Shivanand.
