BSKBA Gokula Covid Relief

India is the third worst-hit country by the COVID-19 virus after the US and Brazil. The virus has now spread to the entire nation and we are receiving nearly 1,00,000 new cases every day in India. It is highly contagious and can become potentially dangerous especially in elderly people with co-morbidities and people with low immunity. However, the good news is that its virulence has come down slightly and health care providers are now better equipped with the required medicines. Very soon, we are expecting a vaccine to be available in the market. Interestingly, a sero-surveillance survey conducted by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has found 57% of the samples from slums and 16% from non-slums population in Mumbai had already developed COVIDS-19 antibodies in their blood. If this is so, then most of Mumbai will soon reach the stage of herd immunity giving some relief to the people of Mumbai.

Gokul has been very supportive towards our members and the Society at large by helping needy people by giving direct financial assistance and providing monthly ration. We have provided monthly ration to the children of 200 families studying at Dharavi Municipal School and the Construction workers working at our Gokul site. We have also provided financial assistance to more than 225 families belonging to the underprivileged members of the society residing in Mumbai, Mangalore, and the Udupi region. We have provided rupees 5000 per family for their monthly ration and medicines for about 125 families in Mangalore and Udupi Taluk and about 100 families in Mumbai.

Treatment of covid-19 disease is very expensive and needs prolonged hospitalization and medicines are expensive too. Hence we have now extended this financial support to our members who have suffered from COVID-19. We have extended this financial support to our members who have suffered from covid-19 and need hospitalization and also moral support to reduce mental stress. We have also donated substantial amount to PM care fund.

Treatment of covid case is not only treating the patient, but also patient’s relatives have to be educated to maintain complete isolation with proper care. Entire family has to be quarantined to prevent spread in the community. They also need to be educated about the need of proper testing for early detection. It is necessary to educate the society about the covid affected patients that they are not untouchable forever. After 15 days of isolation or once the report is negative, they are as normal as anyone else. We are spending a lot of time educating the society at large to erase the social stigma by conducting lectures video presentations and educating the common man. ಮುಂಬಯಿ (ಆರ್‍ಬಿಐ),ನ.11: ಬಿಎಸ್‍ಕೆಬಿ ಎಸೋಸಿಯೇಶನ್ (ಗೋಕುಲ) ಸಾಯನ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಜಾಗತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹಬ್ಬಿರುವ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಆಪತ್ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಎಸ್‍ಕೆಬಿಎ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಡಾ| ಸುರೇಶ್ ಎಸ್. ರಾವ್ ಕಟೀಲು ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ   ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆಸಿದೆ.

ಕಳೆದ ಸುಮಾರು ಎಂಟು ತಿಂಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರಪಂಚವನ್ನೇ ಕಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕೋವಿಡ್-19 ಮಹಾಮಾರಿಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಜನಜೀವನ ಅಸ್ತವ್ಯಸ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ. ದೊಡ್ಡ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಪತಿಗಳಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಜನ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರವರೆಗೂ ಈ ಮಹಾಮಾರಿಯ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ತಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆಥಿರ್üಕವಾಗಿ ದುರ್ಬಲರಾದ ಹಾಗೂ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಆದಾಯವನ್ನೇ ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿರುವ ಜನರ ಬಾಳು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದುಸ್ತರವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಈ ಸಂಕಟ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಿಎಸ್‍ಕೆಬಿಎ ಗೋಕುಲವು, ಆಥಿರ್üಕ  ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯಿರುವ ಸದಸ್ಯ  ಬಾಂಧವರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾಜ ಬಾಂಧವರಿಗೆ  ಧನ ಸಹಾಯ  ಅಥವಾ ಅಗತ್ಯ ದಿನಸಿ  ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಲಾದಷ್ಟು ಸಹಾಯ  ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಮುಂಬಯಿ ಮಹಾ ನಗರಪಾಲಿಕೆಯ ಧಾರಾವಿ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಸುಮಾರು 200  ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ  ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳ ರೇಷನ್ ನೀಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಮೆರೆದಿದೆ. ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಸದ್ಯ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗೋಕುಲದ ನಿವೇಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳ ದವಸಧಾನ್ಯ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ   ದೈನಂದಿನ ಆದಾಯವಿಲ್ಲದ  ಮುಂಬಯಿ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಉಡುಪಿಯ   ಸುಮಾರು 225  ಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕಿ  ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ತಲಾ ರೂ. 5000/- ಮೊತ್ತದÀಂತೆ ಧನ ಸಹಾಯ,  ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಸುಮಾರು 125ಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಂಬಯಿಯ 100ಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ಔಷಧಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಕೋವಿಡ್ -19 ಪರಿಹಾರ ನಿಧಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಾ ಉತ್ತಮ ದೇಣಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ.

ಕೋವಿಡ್-19 ಕಾಯಿಲೆಗೆ ಔಷಧೋಪಚಾರ,ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಖರ್ಚು ತುಂಬಾ ದುಬಾರಿ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ  ಕೊರೋನಾ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಗೆ  ಒಳಗಾದ ನಮ್ಮ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗೆ  ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಹಾಯ, ವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಒತ್ತಡವನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡಲು .ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಧೈರ್ಯ ಸ್ಥೈರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತುಂಬುವ  ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ.  ಕೋವಿಡ್‍ಗೆ ತುತ್ತಾದವರು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ಅವರ ಪರಿವಾರದವರೂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಅಂತರ ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಏಕಾಂತತೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಕೂಡಾ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ತುಮುಲ, ಖಿನ್ನತೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ  ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕಾಳಜಿ ವಹಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು    ವೆಬಿನಾರ್, ವೀಡಿಯೊ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದ ಏಳೆಂಟು ತಿಂಗಳಿನಿಂದ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದೆ.
