Udupi March 16: The second wave of Covid begins, and the public must comply with Covid’s safety rules, such as wearing a mask, and social interaction. District Collector G. Jagdeesh has warned that those who violate safety rules will be fined and prosecuted.
He spoke on Tuesday at the Ajjarakadu District Hospital, receiving a second stage Covid vaccine.
The public must be conscious and wear a mandatory mask. In shopping malls, customers who walk into stores must wear a mask. Store owners should ban public access to the store without wearing a mask. Otherwise, the license of such shop owner will be revoked, said District Collector G Jagdeesh.
Those arriving in the district from the states of Kerala and Maharashtra must bring a 72-hour Corona Negative Report. The public should immediately inform the authorities of those who did not report a negative report from outside states. He said an immediate corona test would be performed.
Older citizens over the age of 60 and those suffering from other diseases between the ages of 45 and 59 must obtain the Corona vaccine. The vaccine is being provided free of charge in all government hospitals. He said all public should take advantage of it.
Udupi district is the second largest in the state for getting vaccinated by frontline workers. Senior citizens are 6th in terms of getting the Corona vaccine in the state. More than 17,000 senior citizens and other sufferers have been vaccinated in the district. DC said that if more and more people came to get the Covid-19 vaccine, more drug centers would be created and vaccinated.
At the same time, the Additional D, C. Sadashiva Prabhu also received the second stage Covid vaccine.
DHO Dr. Sudhir Chandra Suda, District Surgeon Dr. Madhusudan Nayak, District Vaccine Officer MG Rama, Kovid Special Nodal Officer Dr. Premanand and others were present.
