Udupi : The shifting of main door of the Tenkanidiyoor Gram Panchayat office without passing any resolution in the gram panchayat meeting and gram panchayat president’s action in filing caste abuse case against the gram panchayat sitting members and villagers who questioned this illegal act condemnable, said Prakhyath Shetty, Tenkanidiyoor Gram Panchayat member and vice president of Udupi district Congress Committee.

Addressing a press conference at Udupi Press Club here on Wednesday, March 17, Prakhyath Shetty said that the newly elected BJP supported Tenkanidiyoor Gram Panchayat President should conduct the meeting on shifting of panchayat office main door. Earlier there was one meeting after the election, but shifting of the main door not discussed in that meeting. Later, without holding the meeting, during the holidays’ time shifting the main door.

He said the Tenkanidiyoor Gram panchayat office built in 2010. Since then the main door was in front of the main road which was easily recognizable. But, all of sudden the main door was shifting to one corner of the building without passing a resolution in the meeting condemnable.  The gram panchayat members as well as people of the village questions the panchayat president the reason behind the shifting the main door. The present gram panchayat administration supported by the BJP trying to make problems for the people at large, he said.

Shetty said that the people are angry with shifting the main door of the panchayat office building. The intention of the BJP supported administration is out to create problems for the people. Shetty accused of wasting the tax money of the people and showing total negligence. He warned of undertaking stronger measures agitation and protests in near future.

The various administration of previous Tenkanidiyoor gram panchayat since several years was better. But, since six years under BJP supported panchayat administration far behind for the development point of view, he said.

Shetty said that the president registered caste abuse case against the congress supported members Suresh Nayak, Sathish Nayak, Meena Pinto, Prathviraj Shetty and Lalita Acharthi from Vishnunagara. Meanwhile the president also lodged complaints against some villagers who came there to seek redressal of their problems after asking them to get out.

Prakhyat Shetty demanded resignation of Panchayat President who not able to handle proper administration of the gram panchayat.
