Udupi : Kaup North Zone Block Congress Committee will hold “Janadhwani” protest on March 25 from Perdoor to 80 Badagubettu to create awareness of the anti-people policies of the central and state governments. Protest rally will be held with a foot march from 9.30am covering a distance of 16 kilometres proceeding via Hiriadka, Parkala and to be culminating at 80 Badagubettu Panchayat office, said former minister Vinayakumar Sorake.

Addressing the press meet at Udupi Press Club on Tuesday, March 23, Vinayakumar Sorake said that the central government and the state government made amendments to APMC Act, Land Reforms Act, Labour Act and Essential Commodities Act, The prices of petrol and diesel have increased due to government cess. The hike in petrol and diesel prices affected people from all walks of life. The poor people as well as middle class people were badly hit due to price rice in all life necessary food grains and other materials. The rise had cascading effect on various items. The prices of almost all essential items had been increased. The increase of petrol and diesel prices will lead to the cost of transport, cement and steel without control, Sorake said.

Sorake said that the three farms which bills brought in Lok Sabha would be disaster of federal structure. The country’s economy has collapsed as a result of the government’s faulty economi poliies and people are being made to pay a heavy price for this.

Sorake said that the state the recent policy of discarding old vehicle as junk is aimed to make richer the corporate and also due to discarding old vehicles will badly effecting the poor vehicle owners. The ban on stone crusher in the state has made construction workers jobless. During the election canvas, BJP said that if we come to power, the rate of sad not increasing Rs. 3000 and sand will be available all the time after one month. But, there is scarcity of sand in the state which effects construction, he said.

During the congress rule, several big companies established and some of the commercial banks nationalized for the poor people. But, the present government the public sector companies like LIC, Railway, Airports and other more than 100 public and semi-public sector companies are being privatized. Hence, thousands of people will lose their jobs. The central and the state government failed to give good governance for the people.

Sorake also said that financial irregularities of Rs 40 crore have occurred in the name of dredging in Swarna river. The direction of Varahe drinking water project for the Udupi city has changed. The Brahmavar Sugar Factory which established by the then MP Oscar Fernandes has been cornered by the BJP.

Therefore, the Congress party planned to organize awareness on the failures of the central and state government for the people which the rally will be held condemning the rampant corruption in the government.
