Udupi : Army Recruitment Rally was held at Mahatma Gandhi Stadium, Ajjarkad near here with effect from 17^th to 27^th March, 2021 by Army Recruiting office, Mangalore under the aegis of HQ Recruting, Bengaluru.

Addressing a press conference at M A Stadium premises, Ajjarkad near here on Tuesday, March 30, Col. Subhash said that there was an overwhelming response to the notification fir conduct of the rally and 38,818 candidates registered online. 22,532 candidates reported for the rally and underwent physical fitness tests and medical tests at the rally.

He said that candidates found fit in tests conducted at the rally site are now undergoing medical examination by a team of Army Medical officers. Candidates found physically and medically fit will then have to appear in a written test to be conducted on 30^th May 2021. Candidates passing the written test and falling in merit will be dispatched to designated Training Centres of the Army.

District Administration authorities extended full and whole hearted support for smooth conduct of the Recruitment rally. We extend our special thanks to G. Jagadeesha, IAS, District Commissioner, Udupi and N Vishuvardhan IPS, Superintendent of Police, Udupi district and their team of officials for the all support rendered, Col. Subhash said.

G. Jagadeesha DC said that some social media made fake news on the army rally candidates about the laying over the streets of Udupi and so on. At six places, the accommodations for the candidates had been organized in Udupi city. The district administration, locals, Sri Krishna Math and others had given food to those attending the rally. Those who arrived late night and they should attend the rally at 4am were some taken rest on the roadside due to lack of time they get. But, unfortunately some had clicked the images and sent into the social media. The district administration had done excellent job for the candidates for the rally of Army.

DC said that there were large number of candidates participated especially from north Karnataka region. Very few in numbers of candidates from Udupi, D.K. Shivmogga were participated and we request the government in near future, due to large number of aspirants for the rally from the northern parts of the state, it would be better to arrange over there. But near future we expect more candidates from undivided Dakshina Kannada district.
